I’m sure you could already tell by the name, but I’m a professional engineer that decided to switch from the corporate world to pursue two of my biggest passions - coaching/mentorship, and hockey goaltending.

Since I was a kid, I was always around organized sports, and I was lucky enough to have had amazing coaches and mentors throughout the years. From growing up in minor hockey, track and field, and leading my university’s dragon boat paddling club as the team captain, it has provided me with the competitive mindset, coaching background, and leadership experience that I have today. It’s now my time to try to give back in the same way.

Here at Goalie Engineering, we unlock the science behind how to master the position. We demonstrate the “why” through a technical physics and engineering lens, while at the same time making it fun, relatable, and easy to understand. The style of goaltending has changed a lot in the last 20+ years, and goalies nowadays need to be even more detail-oriented to adapt to the increased speed and skill of the game. Along with helping our goalies develop physically and mentally, we also teach and break down the aspects of positioning, stance, movement, and save selection through a technical perspective. This helps the goalies gain a much deeper understanding of why and how it works, which helps them make smarter and more informed decisions during their development and games.

Additionally, we take our technical lens to analyze every single drill that we prepare, both new and old, ensuring that we provide our goaltenders with only the best and most useful training for their growth.
